He Was Trying to Follow the Immigration Process
Before his detention, our uncle sought help with his work permit application because he was trying to follow the proper immigration process. Unfortunately, we have since learned that the application may not have been completed or submitted correctly. The person who previously handled the matter is no longer responding to his calls or our family’s attempts to obtain information.
We are now trying to raise the $15,000 required to retain an attorney who can review what happened, address any errors, and properly represent him moving forward. Our family has contributed as much as we can, and several close friends have generously loaned us money to help with the immediate expenses. Even with their support, we still need help reaching our goal.
A Family That Depends on Him
My uncle is a husband, father, caregiver, and primary source of support for his family. His wife lives with catamenial epilepsy, a serious seizure disorder that significantly affects her daily life. She relies heavily on him for physical, emotional, and financial support. Together, they have a toddler, and he also helps support his 18-year-old son. While he remains detained, our family is helping cover rent, utilities, food, transportation, and other essential household expenses for his wife and children. We must also send him money for supplemental food, hygiene products, and basic necessities from the facility’s commissary. Phone calls with his wife, children, attorney, and family are another ongoing expense.
How You Can Help
-
Make a Direct Donation - You may contribute any amount you feel comfortable giving. No donation is too small. Every contribution helps us move closer to retaining the attorney and supporting his family during this crisis.
-
Shop to Support the Family - You can also help by purchasing from our designated fundraiser collection. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from purchases made through the fundraiser collection will go toward his legal representation and his family’s essential needs. SHOP THE FUNDRAISER COLLECTION
Our family is facing an incredibly difficult and urgent situation. Our uncle has been detained by ICE and transferred to a facility in another state, far from his wife, children, and the rest of our family. We have found an experienced immigration attorney who has reviewed his situation and believes there may be a viable path toward securing his release. Although no outcome can be guaranteed, proper representation would give him a meaningful opportunity to fight his case and return home to his family.

Our Commitment to Transparency
We understand that people want to feel confident that a fundraiser is legitimate and that their contributions are being used as described. To protect our uncle’s privacy and avoid sharing information that could affect his legal case, we will not publish his full name, A-number, case number, detention information, or legal documents online. However, redacted documentation confirming his detention and the proposed legal fees may be made available privately upon reasonable request. Please contact me at xcosme7@gmail.com with the subject line “Fundraiser Verification.” We will also share updates when we are able to do so without compromising his privacy or legal case.
Thank You for Standing With Our Family
Asking for help is not easy, but we have tried and our family cannot do this alone. Whether you make a donation, purchase an item, or simply share this page, you are helping a husband and father fight for a fair opportunity to return to the people who depend on him. We sincerely THANK YOU for supporting our family with compassion, generosity, and respect for their privacy.
Contributions are being collected for the personal benefit of our family and are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations. Payment-processing fees may apply to direct contributions.
